The 2002 Walt Disney Art Classics Convention - Recap Page 1

Conventioneers began their day on April 19th at 8am, registering for the event at the Disneyland Hotel. Each guest received a confirmation of the event merchandise that they had preordered by mail, along with a bag of goodies. Among the registration gifts were Walt Disney Classics Collection (WDCC) postcards (below), a 10th anniversary WDCC notepad (below), a WDCC button (right), a lanyard convention pass with pin of either Jiminy, Minnie, or Mickey Mouse (right), and a WDAC

event cloisonné pin (limited edition: 550, lower right).  Each lanyard had the guests name and home town printed on the pass card. The entire goodie bag came in a small wooden orange crate imprinted with the event logo. In addition to the goodie bag, the crate contained a Walt Disney Classics Collection gift sculpture of a television set title for the newsreel segment of the original Mickey Mouse Club. This title sculpture was meant to accompany the "Mickey Behind the Camera" event sculpture. The title sculpture was limited to 550 pieces and contained a "Made in California" convention backstamp (Below).

It is not clear why the TV and cloisonné' pin were limited to 550 when the event maximum was only 500. There was an estimated 417 guests in attendance, and so the true edition size is probably under 500.
